Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team fell to DePaul at the Earle Tennis Center on Tuesday before traveling to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, to face the College of Charleston.
 
DePaul (11-6) swept the doubles competition against the Bulldogs (10-21) to give the Blue Demons a 1-0 lead.
 
In singles play, freshman 
Noah Nawabi defeated Christopher Casati from DePaul at the No. 4 position with a score of 6-4, 6-4. The Bulldogs dropped the remaining matches to give the Blue Demons a 6-1 victory.
 
On Tuesday night, the College of Charleston Cougars (9-5) swept two of the three doubles competitions against the Bulldogs, leaving one unfinished.
 
In the singles action, freshmen 
Willem van Zyl and 
Jack Pyritz captured two wins for the Bulldogs. Van Zyl defeated Rodrigo Encinas 6-1, 2-6 and 6-2 at the No. 4 position, and Pyritz won 6-2, 6-2 over Ryan Khan at No. 5. The Cougars won 5-2.
 
Next, the Bulldogs are scheduled to take on conference competitor Furman on Saturday at 2 p.m. before competing against Davidson and Delaware on Sunday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. Complete results will be available at CitadelSports.com at the conclusion of all matches.
