Bulldogs Finish Bill Carson Invitational on Saturday

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Citadel track and field teams competed in the final day of the Bill Carson Invitational on Saturday in Greenville, North Carolina.

For the women's team, senior Kaitlyn Moore took eighth and sophomore Kameron Cass finished ninth in the shot put with tosses of 38 feet, 8.5 inches and 36-8.75, respectively.

For the men's team, junior Jamie Cunningham took third place in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 4 minutes, 3.05 seconds. Junior Malik Diggs finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.47. Diggs also earned seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.26.

Sophomore Stephan Kulick finished fifth in the 800-meter race and freshman Mustapha Elgazar took sixth with times of 1:55.64 and 1:56.25, respectively. Sophomore Josiah Johnson placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.91.

In the field events, sophomore Jordan Williams placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 5 inches. Sophomore Ja'Lon Williams took sixth place in the shot put with a heave of 48-4.25.

The men's team took sixth place overall with a score of 60 points and the women's team finished sixth with 17 points.

Next up on the Bulldogs' schedule is the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, and full results will be available at CitadelSports.com at the meet's conclusion.
