CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team dropped its match in McAlister Field House against Southern Conference opponent Chattanooga on Sunday.  
 
The Bulldogs (1-7, 0-2 SoCon) had a slow start dropping the first three matches in the 125-pound, 133-lb. and 141-lb. weight classes. Senior, 149 pounder Ty Buckiso earned his first conference win of the season and was the first to put up points for the Bulldogs with a 6-3 decision over Chattanooga's Roman Boylen.
 
Sophomore Michael McAleavey also earned points for the Bulldogs in the 285-lb. weight class with an 18-4 major decision over Ben Stacey. The Mocs went on to win the match 38-7 to stay undefeated in conference play.
 
Up next, the Bulldogs will host conference-foe VMI (1-5, 1-2) on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast on the SoCon Digital Network and live stats will be available at CitadelSports.com.
