Matt Frierson netted his second career 30-point game off a program-record 10 3-pointers Wednesday night as The Citadel basketball team cruised to a 137-60 victory over Johnson University (Florida) at McAlister Field House.

- The Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-2 lead in under two minutes as Connor Kern and Frierson each hit their first 3-pointer of the game.
- With 16:17 left in the opening stanza, Frierson hit his third 3-pointer of the game to give the 'Dogs a 10-point, 14-4 lead.
- With 11:16 left in the first half, Brown made the Bulldog lead 20, 29-9 with a layup.
- The Bulldogs took a 68-30 lead into the locker room at halftime after dunks by Brown and Alex Reed that bookended a Stallworth fast-break layup.
- Johnson opened the second half with a short, 4-2 run before the Bulldogs came storming back.

- The Bulldogs brought down 45 defensive rebounds Wednesday night, setting a program record. The 62 total rebounds are tied for sixth-most boards in a single game.
- The Bulldogs' 68 first-half points were the eighth-most scored in an opening half in program history.
- The 69 points scored in the second half were the 3rd-most points scored in a closing 20 minutes in program history.
- The 47 made field goals are tied for eighth in program history, while the 85 shot attempts are tied for 11th in program history.
- The Bulldogs' 28 assists on 47 shots are tied for 14th most in a single game.
- Stallworth set a program and personal record with 13 assists, eclipsing the previous Citadel mark of 12 that was set by Marshall Harris, III on March 1, 2014 in a game against Georgia Southern.
- Stallworth recorded his first double-double as a Bulldog with 13 points and 13 assists. He was close to recording a triple-double as he finished his 20 minutes of work with six rebounds.
- Frierson finished his 20 minutes of work with a game-high 30 points off 10 3-pointers. The 30 points are one off his career high of 31, but the 10 treys sets a new personal record for the senior. He ties teammate Quayson Williams for tops on the 3-pointers made in a game list. Williams accomplished the feat as a freshman in a game against Mid-Atlantic Christian on Nov. 19, 2015.
- Frierson extended his current streak to 41 straight games with at least one 3-pointer made. The 10 3-pointers Wednesday night mark the 27th time in his career that Frierson has converted at least four treys. He now has 239 career treys made, a mark that moves him up into fifth all-time in program history.
- Najdawi was close to recording a triple-double as he finished his 13 minutes of work with 18 points, seven rebounds and six blocks. With his 18 points scored, Najdawi moved up two positions in The Citadel record book to 14th with 1,247 career points scored. He is also now second all-time with 149 career blocks. The six blocks match his career high, a mark he has reached twice before, and are tied for fourth most in program history. The six blocks mark the 42nd time in his illustrious career that Najdawi has had multiple blocks in a game.
- Najdawi was a perfect 10-for-10 at the charity stripe.
- Brown notched a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. It is the first double-double of his collegiate career, and the 10 boards mark a career high for Brown.
- Kern scored 14 points Wednesday night, two off his career high. He was also one made field goal, one made 3-pointer and one assist off career highs in all three categories, but he had a career-high three steals against the Suns.
- Sophomore Reed came close to recording a double-double, corralling in a career-high 11 rebounds to go along with seven points. Reed added three assists and a block.

"We got a little sloppy a couple of times with turnovers, but that can happen when a game gets out of hand like that. But I'm proud of the guys. Lew had another great game with 13 assists and just one turnover, and Matt tied a record for threes. He tied Quayson, and I think it's only fitting that those two are tied for that stat. It's awesome."
COMING UP
The Citadel will next head to Austin, Texas to take on the Longhorns of the University of Texas on Friday, Nov. 16. The game with the Longhorns, featuring an 8 p.m. Eastern tipoff on the Longhorn Network, will open a three-game road swing for the Bulldogs.

The Citadel will offer discounted tickets to active military and first responders at all home ticketed events this season. All active military and first responders, with a valid ID, have the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets at general admissions prices. Basketball tickets can be purchased for just $8.
