Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Stallworth, Reed Lead Bulldogs to 91-82 Win Over JMU in Overtime

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Last year, the game between The Citadel and James Madison came down to the final 22 seconds and was decided by just two points in Charleston. Because of that close game last season, it should come as no surprise that Tuesday night's game inside the JMU Convocation Center went to overtime as the 'Dogs downed a previously undefeated JMU team, 91-82.

The Bulldogs relied on a heavy dose of Lew Stallworth and Alex Reed, and were nearly perfect in overtime, going 5-for-5 from the field, 1-for-1 from beyond the 3-point line and 9-for-12 from the charity stripe. The Citadel forced 17 JMU turnovers and committed just one turnover themselves in the second half to notch the first road win of the season.

QUOTABLES FROM COACH DUGGAR BAUCOM
"I thought we played so much better in the second half than we did in the first half. I'm very proud of my guys. We were almost perfect in overtime, so I will definitely take that. I was frustrated that we went 2-for-16 from 3-point range in the first half, but we came out and played really well in the second half, especially right from the start. We had a 19-2 run from the end of the first half into the second half, and we forced them into several turnovers, so I'm proud of our guys for doing that."
