SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Junior outside hitter, Sharlissa De Jesus received player of the week honors from the Southern Conference on Monday. De Jesus was named as the Offensive Player of the Week.

"Sharlissa has been on a long recovery journey from a bad injury during preseason," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "I think her performance throughout last week was her way of announcing to everyone that she is back."

De Jesus is coming off a week that saw three-straight wins for the Bulldogs to add to a current four-game win streak. This is the longest win streak for The Citadel since the 2004 season that included five-straight victories.

The Guayama, Puerto Rico native posted a double-double in all three matches over the week, bringing to a total of seven on the season. She hammered down 57 total kills on the week, averaging 4.38 per set. She closed out the week with a .328 hitting percentage. De Jesus put together 22 kills in each of last week's conference wins over Wofford and Chattanooga.
