'Dogs Open SoCon Action at The Joe

GAME NOTES | TICKETS

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel opens Southern Conference play March 22-24 against VMI at Riley Park. The series gets underway Friday at 6:30 p.m., and continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Military Appreciation Weekend
This weekend is Military Appreciation weekend sponsored by APECS.


Ticket Information
Tickets for all home games are available on CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.


Weekend Weather
Temperatures are expected to be around 70 degrees for all three games of the series.


Series History vs. VMI
The Bulldogs and Keydets have met 115 times prior with The Citadel holding an 82-33 advantage. The Bulldogs are 8-7 over the past four years, including 2-1 in postseason games.


Goodman Collects 1st Hit, RBI
Freshman Ches Goodman collected his first career hit and RBI when he delivered a RBI double to right center against Winthrop.


Triple Doubles
Freshman Tyler Corbitt collected three doubles in the game against Georgia Southern. The second baseman leads the team with nine doubles on the season.


Corbitt's Hit Streak Ends at 12
Freshman Tyler Corbitt had his 12-game hit streak come to an end in the second game of the doubleheader at Indiana State. The hit streak is the longest by a Bulldog since Austin Mapes had a 13-game hit streak in 2015.

The Bulldogs roster features seven players that bat left, but throw right. It is the second most players to bat left and throw right, trailing only eight by Western Kentucky. Additionally, the Bulldogs feature a player who throws left and bats right.


On Deck
The 'Dogs make the short trip to Patriots Point to take on the College of Charleston on March 26. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
