CHARLESTON, S.C. – Eight Citadel rifle cadet-athletes have earned Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholastic All-America honors, including five repeat winners.
To earn the honor, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.2 grade-point average (GPA) for the Fall 2018 semester.
Senior
Tommy Simrill became a three-time recipient of the award by posting a 3.67 GPA as a history major last semester.
Senior
Lauren Pringle and sophomore
Max Brabston both had perfect 4.0s and earned the award for the second time in their careers. Pringle is a biology major, while Brabston is majoring in history.
Also earning the honor for the second time in their careers are senior
Leah Wallace and junior
Tierra Price. Wallace recorded a 3.57 GPA as a criminal justice major and Price finished Fall 2018 with a 3.68 GPA in psychology.
Three cadet-athletes earned the honor for the first time in their careers, led by senior
Abby Koger. Also included are freshmen
Brandon Oerman and
Emily Perkins. Koger finished the fall semester with a 3.68 grade-point average in nursing. Oerman recorded a 3.33 GPA as a political science major, and Perkins finished Fall 2018 with a 3.63 GPA in civil engineering.
