CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Bulldogs took on the top ranked SoCon team, Samford, Saturday afternoon falling in four sets, 1-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bulldogs offense put out a .069 overall hitting percentage and 36 kills to Samford's .270 percentage and 54 total kills.
After dropping set one, the 'Dogs hunkered down to force extra points to take the second set.
The Citadel wasn't without the help of Mellanie King, who put out a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.
Megan Fuhr aided the offense with a career-high, eight kills.

NEXT UP
The Bulldogs hit the court Wednesday, Oct. at 6 p.m. against UNCG. The Citadel will be on the road for the next four consecutive matches.
