HEMPSTEAD, NY – The Citadel wrestling team split a pair of matches Saturday afternoon, topping Long Island, 34-9, and falling at Hofstra, 7-36.

Freshman Jordie White made quick work of his Long Island opponent, Brandon Mercado, pinning him in two minutes and eight seconds. Michael McAleavey, Doug Gudenburr, Jake Dado, and Dazjon Casto all captured victories with major decisions.

Selwyn Porter and Dazjon Casto were the lone winners for the Bulldogs at the team's second match of the day at Hofstra. Porter topped Reece Heller in a, 14-8 decision. Casto snagged two major decision wins for the day, downing Ricky Stamm, 13-4.

Next up, the Bulldogs travel to Davidson, January 17 for their first conference dual match of the season.
