RESULTS
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Citadel mixed rifle team shot a 4,576 to finish second at the tri-match hosted by Jacksonville State on Saturday. The host, No. 16 Gamecocks won the event with a 4,643, while No. 18 UAB finished third (4,561) and the Bulldog women's team fourth (4,288).
A trio of Bulldogs battled for the top honors on the team, with one point separating the three.
Cameron Bates finished in fifth place with an aggregate score of 1,149. He just beat out teammates
Max Brabston and
Charlotte Welsh, who each shot 1,148.
Demi Perez led the women's team with an aggregate score of 1,088. She was followed closely by
Riley Neiders who shot a 1.084.
Three-Position Smallbore
- Brabston led the Bulldogs in smallbore by finishing fifth with a score of 573.The score was a season-high for Brabston, besting the 571 he shot in the season opener.
- He was followed by Bates in sixth place with a score of 571.
- Welsh shot a 562 to finish 11th.
- Taylor Swiger was the top shooter for the women's team with a 532.
Air Rifle
- Welsh continued to lead the way in air rifle as he score of 586 placed her third in the event.
- Bates finished seventh in the event with a score of 578.
- He was followed closely by Brabston with a 575.
- Jack Whittman finished 11th with a 574 in his first air rifle competition of the season.
- Perez led the women's team with a 564.
- Neiders was second on the women's team with a 558.

The Bulldogs have wrapped up the fall season and will return to the range on Jan. 23 as they welcome TCU to the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
