CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's and mixed rifle team's return to action Jan. 23 when it welcomes No. 1 TCU to the Inouye Marksmanship Center. The match is set to get underway at 8:30 a.m.
The Bulldogs enter the matchup ranked No. 20 in the national rankings, while the Horned Frogs are tied with Kentucky and Ole Miss at No. 1
Saturday's match will be the first for the Bulldogs since facing Jacksonville State and UAB on Nov. 21. The Citadel competed in seven matches during the fall.
The lineup for the mixed team will be
Cameron Bates,
Max Brabston,
Brandon Oerman,
Emily Perkins,
Jack Wittman and
Charlotte Welsh.
Bates shot the best aggregate score during the fall with a 1.155 against North Georgia on Nov. 14. That score was just two points higher than Welsh, who shot a 1,153 at the same event.
The women's lineup will feature
Kylie Green,
Emma McCorkle,
Riley Neiders,
Demi Perez and
Taylor Swiger.
Neiders had the top performance from the fall with an aggregate score of 1,113 against Jacksonville State on Oct. 25.
TCU is 4-0 on the season and is coming off a pair of victories over Alaska last weekend. The Horned Frogs shot the program's second-best aggregate score and smallbore tally in program history in the second matchup with the Nanooks.
The Bulldogs next match will be Jan. 30 when UAB comes to Charleston.
