CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel mixed rifle team split a pair of Southern Conference matches Saturday inside the Inouye Marksmanship Center. The Bulldogs shot 4,546 to finish second behind UAB, 4,599. VMI placed third with an aggregate score of 4,487.
Cameron Bates posted the top individual score with a total of 1,162. He posted the top score in smallbore (581), while also shooting a 581 in air rifle.
Three-Position Smallbore
- Cameron Bates shot a career-best 581 to win the event.
- The scored beats the old career mark of 580 set on Nov. 14, 2020 against North Georgia.
- Max Brabston finished fourth with a total of 568.
- Charlotte Welsh shot a 555 to finish 11th.
Air Rifle
- Charlotte Welsh paced the Bulldogs in air rifle with a score of 590.
- The score is a new career-high for the freshman who was twice shot 588.
- Emily Perkins finished fourth with a score of 582.
- She was followed closely by Cameron Bates at 581.
- Brandon Oerman finished in ninth place with a score of 573.
- Riley Nediers was the top performer on the women's team with a 550.
