Track and Field Head to South Carolina Invitational

COLUMBIA – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams open the 2022 indoor season on Jan. 28-29 at the South Carolina Invitational.
Spectators are allowed at the Carolina Indoor Track and Field Complex. Tickets for each day are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 17 and under, and children 2 and under are free. Tickets are cash only, and seating is limited. Masking will be required and will be restricted to non-team areas.
The two-day event will get underway Friday at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw and the men's hammer. The running events will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday's field events will start at 10 a.m. with the men's pole vault and high jump, while the running events will begin with the 5000m run at 10:10 a.m.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to open the season last week at the Carolina Challenge, but weather conditions did not allow The Citadel to travel for the event.
The Citadel thrower Carisma Holland returns to the track where she competed the previous three years as a member of South Carolina's track and field team. She finished 15th at the 2021 Southeastern Conference Championships with a throw of 47-2.25.
The Citadel men's and women's track and field will travel to JDL Team Challenge in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Feb. 10.
