The Citadel kicks off its season Thursday with its lone match of the week on the road at Navy. It'll be the fifth pairing between the Bulldogs and Midshipmen and third to take place in Annapolis, Md. Navy has won every matchup, most recently a 4-1 victory on Sept. 1, 2019.

The Bulldogs look to build off a 10-win 2021 season with 13 returners and 16 newcomers. The two notable returners are forward and 2022 Preseason All-SoCon selection

Jess Newton, who led the league last season with a .859 save percentage. Seven of the new faces for The Citadel are graduate transfers, six from NCAA Division I programs and one from NCAA Division II.
YOSUE AGAIN CHOSEN PRESEASON ALL-SOCON; BULLDOGS SELECTED EIGHTH
This marks the second straight year
Suzuka Yosue was chosen to the All-SoCon Preseason Team. She is a three-time All-SoCon selection, becoming the first Bulldog in school history to achieve back-to-back First Team nods in 2020 and 2021. She led the SoCon in all scoring categories in 2021 with 33 points on 11 goals and 11 assists, finishing one point shy of The Citadel's season record for points. The native of Osaka, Japan currently holds the school record with 24 career assists, third with 58 career points, and tied for seventh with 17 goals. The Bulldogs were ranked eighth in the coaches preseason poll with 34 points.
NCAA ALTERS OVERTIME RULES
Beginning this season, all NCAA regular season games will have no overtime. Postseason games will have overtime, but no golden goals. Teams will play two 10-minute halves with a penalty shootout if necessary.
KIRKWOOD JOINS TRAQUAIR'S STAFF
Adam Kirkwood joins The Citadel's coaching staff this fall as a graduate assistant coach. Kirkwood, a Scotland native, comes over from Young Harris College, where he graduated in 2021 with a degree in Management and Marketing. He played two seasons there after playing his first two years at LSU Shreveport, where he was a NAIA All-American.
