CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team dropped a 3–0 decision to Western Carolina on Sunday afternoon at Washington Light Infantry Field.
The Catamounts struck early, taking the lead in the fourth minute when Isabella DeMarco finished a cross from Milla Syska. DeMarco doubled the advantage in the 34th minute with her second goal of the day, assisted by Sofia Goclowski, to send Western Carolina into halftime up 2–0.
Despite a resilient defensive effort in the second half, The Citadel couldn't find its rhythm in the attacking third, managing just three total shots and one on frame. Graduate goalkeeper
Sarah Wethington tallied six saves in relief after entering early in the first half, while
Zoe Santos started the match in goal.
Western Carolina sealed the result in the 88th minute when Gabriela Vatrano netted the Catamounts' third goal.

Gabi Macer each received yellow cards for the Bulldogs, who now sit at 4-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in Southern Conference play.
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back Friday when they continue their homestand against Chattanooga at 4 p.m. at Washington Light Infantry Field.
