CHARLESTON, S.C. — Samantha Grantham recorded the first hat trick of her career, while Jasiah Pack posted her first career brace as The Citadel (2-1-1, 0-0-0 SoCon) earned an 8-0 victory over South Carolina State (0-4-0, 0-0-0 MEAC) on Thursday evening at Washington Light Infantry Field.

Grantham and Pack each finished with seven points as the former added an assist to her three-goal performance and now leads the team with five goals this season. Meanwhile, Pack contributed three assists in addition to her two goals, marking the first multi-assist performance of her career, and now paces the team with four assists.

Gabrielle Macer, Emily Steiner and Caelynn January each recorded their first goals of the season as well. Macer and Steiner registered the first goals of their collegiate careers, while January and Steiner scored their first goals as Bulldogs.

The eight-goal output was The Citadel's highest since a 9-0 victory over Toccoa Falls on Aug. 31, 2024.

First Half

Grantham opened the scoring at 5:26, putting The Citadel ahead 1-0 with an unassisted goal.
Pack doubled the advantage at 18:26 off an assist from January.
Grantham struck again at 39:34 for her second goal of the night, sending The Citadel into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

Second Half

January extended the lead at 46:14 off an assist from Pack.
Grantham completed the hat trick at 60:08, converting another assist from Pack.
Pack collected her second goal of the match at 69:48 off an assist from Charlotte Seay.
Macer scored at 70:49 off an assist from Grantham.
Steiner capped the scoring at 72:01 off Pack's third assist of the night.

The Citadel finished with a 23-10 advantage in shots and placed 19 attempts on goal. Zoe Santos and Aliana Banner combined for the shutout, with Banner entering in the 71st minute for her first appearance in goal for the Bulldogs. The victory marked The Citadel's second consecutive win.
