MACON, Ga. – The Citadel and Mercer were locked in a scoreless game at the half before the Bears were able to get on the board in the second half in a 17-0 victory over the Bulldogs Saturday evening at Five Star stadium.

• The Bears got on the board on the opening drive of the second half as Fred Payton hit Ty James for a nine-yard touchdown.
• The duo hooked up again later in the quarter on a 63-yard touchdown.
• Devin Folser closed out the scoring with a 23-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.
