SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Twenty-Five cadet-athletes from The Citadel were named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Southern Conference Team that was released on Thursday afternoon
Football led the way with 11 selections, followed by women's soccer with five, four from women's cross country, three from volleyball, and two from men's cross country.
To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the fall semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
The Citadel cadet-athletes recorded a combined department grade-point average (GPA) of 3.181, with 12 athletic programs recording a team GPA over 3.0. In total, 91 cadet-athletes earned Dean's List recognition, 122 earned Gold Stars (3.7 GPA or higher), and 67 finished with Fall 2022 semester with a 4.0.
