Volleyball set to Host the Wofford Terriers

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The top two teams in the Southern Conference are set to compete against each other at McAlister Field House, where The Citadel Bulldogs (17-0. 5-0) will host the Wofford Terriers (13-2, 4-0) on Oct. 7.

The Bulldogs on Top
The Citadel remains undefeated after a 3-1 win over UNCG with a record of 17-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
 
Block Party
The Citadel beat UNCG 3-1 in a match where the Bulldog's defense was outstanding. They set a new season record with a total of 15.0 blocks. Middle blocker Gina DeLancey contributed massively to this tally with two solo blocks and eight block assists during the game. Maddy Cardenas also had an impressive performance with three solo blocks.
 
Double-Double Machine
Ali Ruffin continues to dominate as she posted her tenth double-double of the season with 21 kills and 20 digs against UNCG.
 
Ruffin and Hogan Named as SoCon Players of the Month
Ruffin recorded 206 kills in September, averaging 4.48 per set with a .248 attack percentage and 17 service aces.
 
Ruffin ranks second in the conference with 4.48 kills per set and seventh in the country. She ranks first in the conference in total kills of 280 and third in the country.
 
 Belle Hogan recorded 462 assists, averaging 10.27 assists per set. She registered back-to-back 50-assist matches against Charleston Southern and Chattanooga.
 
Hogan ranks first in the conference with 10.70 assists per set, ranking 17th in the country. She also ranks second in the conference in total assists with 642 and ranks 13th in the nation.
 
Scouting Wofford
The Terriers come into Saturday's match with a 13-2 overall and 4-0 conference record. Wofford has a straight swept four conference opponents in a row. Wofford has five players with over 100 kills, and Sarah Barham leads the team in kills with 124. Abbey Richman leads the Terriers on defense with 262 digs. The Citadel lost 0-3 against Wofford in their previous match at McAlister Field House.
