BOSTON, MASS. –
Andrew Smith and
Sam Sharnas broke the 1000m and 3000m records at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Boston University.
Andrew Smith broke the school record that stood for thirty-six years in the 1000m run with a time of 2:28.41, previously held by Layne Anderson, who ran a time of 2:30.4 in 1987.
Sam Sharnas ran 2:32.89 to earn the third spot all-time.
Sam Sharnas broke his school record in the 3K with a time of 8:30.15, placing 9
th out of 79 runners. Smith ran an 8:47.70 to earn the seventh spot all-time in the record books.
