Series Victory over Power 5
The Bulldogs series victory over Kansas marked the first series victory over a Power 5 team since taking two-of-three from Virginia Tech to open the 2016 season.

Lively's Big Day at the Plate
Matthew Lively introduced himself to the Bulldog faithful in the first game against Kansas as he went 4-for-4 with a triple and a two-run walk-off home run. He finished the game with three RBIs. He followed it up by going 1-for-3 with a key sacrifice bunt in the second game.

Walk-Off Homer
Freshman Matthew Lively hit a walk-off home run to beat Kansas in the series opener on March 17. The long ball was the first of his career and the first for a Bulldog since Joe Jackson walked off App State in the opening game of the 2013 Southern Conference Tournament.

Mitchell Delivers Late
First baseman Noah Mitchell delivered the game-winning hit in the seventh inning of the second game of the doubleheader against Kansas. With two outs and the bases loaded in a tie game, Mitchell pushed a single through the right side to score two runs.

Floyd Shuts the Door
Left hander George Derrick Floyd shut the door in the eighth and ninth innings to earn his second save of the season against Kansas. He entered the game with a 3-1 lead and two runners on in the eighth. He allowed one run to score on three groundouts. After a one-out triple in the ninth, Floyd got the next batter on strikes and ended the game with a grounder to first.

Friday's in Feb. and March
The Citadel has enjoyed success in the Friday game of the non-conference home series during the months and February and March over the past three seasons. The Bulldogs are 12-0 on Friday's in their last 11 series that started on a Friday.

On Deck
The Bulldogs open Southern Conference action on March 24-26 as they welcome Mercer to Riley Park. First pitch for the series opener is set for 6 p.m.
