Track and Field Ready for SoCon Outdoor Championships

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams are ready for the 2023 Southern Conference Outdoor Championships in May. 8-9 in Cullowhee, N.C.

Monday starts with the decathlon at noon, with the women's hammer throw final to follow. Tuesday will resume the decathlon, and the men's and women's discus finals will be at 12:15 pm.

On the Men's Side

Solomon Ghosh is the defending 2022 discus champion when he competed at VMI. Ghosh leads the SoCon in the discus and holds two top-ten spots in the hammer throw and shot put.
Ghosh was selected as the April Field Athlete of the Month after an impressive April, securing three field athletes of the week in a row.
Stephen Kraeling is the reigning 2022 high jump champion. Kraeling currently sits in the third spot in the SoCon heading into the championships.
Prince Moody is in the fourth spot in the high jump.
Reggie Reynolds holds the hammer throw's second spot in the conference.
Kane Duncan ranks fifth in the 400m dash in the conference heading into the championships.

On the Women's Side

Mecca Jackson holds three top-ten spots in the conference. She is first in the 200m, second in the 100m, and ninth in the 400m.
Jackson was honored as the April Track Athlete of the Month after setting multiple school records in the 100m and the 200m.
Tatiana Corso is ranked second in the shot put, ninth in the discus, and eighth in the hammer.
Ali Ruffin holds the third spot in the SoCon in the javelin.
Blythe Hehmeyer ranks third in the pole vault heading into the championships.
