Offensive Miscues Doom Football Against UTC, Bulldogs Drop Homecoming Clash 31-7

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Burdened by a trio of second-half turnovers, The Citadel (4-6, 2-5 SoCon) stumbled against Southern Conference opponent Chattanooga (6-4, 5-2 SoCon) in the program's annual Homecoming matchup, faltering by a final 31-7 margin Saturday afternoon at Sansom Field at Johnson Hagood Stadium.

KEY NOTES
-- Johnathan Bennett wrapped up the game 5-for-10 passing for 44 yards and one interception; additionally, the graduate transfer managed to pace the Bulldogs on the ground with 67 yards off eight rushes
-- For the running back corps, Cooper Wallace composed a strong conclusion to his playing time at Johnson Hagood Stadium behind a four-carry, 64 yards outing, notably posting the Bulldogs' lone touchdown of the day via a 50-yard burst up the middle early in the third quarter; Garrison Johnson added 39 yards on six rushes while Johnny Crawford III contributed 31 yards behind four carries
-- Javonte Graves-Billips led the receivers with one catch for 19 yards while Dervon Pesnell tacked on two receptions for 16 yards
-- Defensively, Thomas Wyatt put together an impressive performance behind his 11-tackle day, racking up 1.5 tackles-for-loss as well; Je'Mazin Roberts slid in at second on the defensive stat line with eight tackles
-- James Platte registered four punts for the game for a 45.2 average, launching a pair of 50 yards with another duo pinning the Mocs inside their own 20-yard line
