Bulldogs Fall In Midweek Against the College of Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel dropped a close game in the late innings against the College of Charleston, 5-4, on Tuesday afternoon inside Joe Riley Park.

How It Happened
  • The Citadel scored three runs in the bottom of the third, thanks to a two-run RBI double from Sawyer Reeves and a ground-out RBI from Javier Crespo.
  • College of Charleston answered back in the top of the fourth inning with two runs scored with an RBI single from Dylan Johnson.
  • Sawyer Reeves gave the Bulldogs the 4-2 lead with an RBI ground out, scoring Travis Lott
  • The Cougars scored their second run, where the College forced a run down, allowing a runner to score before the base runner was tagged out on the play.
  • Charleston added one run in the seventh and two in the eighth inning, the tying run scoring on an error committed by The Citadel to tie the game at 4-4. The Cougars took the lead with a sac-fly RBI.
