Sykes Hits First Career Home Run; Bulldogs Fall in Doubleheader

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Citadel's Wells Sykes hit his first career home run as the Bulldogs lost both games of the doubleheader against ETSU, 8-6 and 9-2 on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
  • The Buccaneer scored the game's first run with a sac-fly RBI from Cody Miller in the bottom of the first.
  • ETSU added two in the second with an RBI single from Tommy Barth to make it 3-0.
  • Wells Sykes got the Bulldogs on the board with a two-run home run to left field, narrowing the lead to just one at 3-2.
  • Javier Crespo recorded an RBI ground out, scoring Thomas Rollauer, who got on with a triple down the right-field line to tie the game at 3-3.
