How It Happened
- The Citadel scored the game's first of a fielding error committed by the Spartans, allowing Wells Sykes to score.
- Both teams were scoreless until the fifth inning, until Jake Ogden hit a two-run home run to give the Spartans the lead 2-1.
- Garrett Fulmer singled to left field, scoring Thomas Rollauer to tie the game at 2-2 in the sixth.
- UNCG added two runs in the seventh with a sac-fly RBI from Tyler Steele and another home run from Ogden.
- Spartans followed up in the eighth inning with an RBI single from Luke Jenkins, extending their lead to 5-2.
- The Citadel answered in the bottom of the eighth inning with an RBI double from Travis Elliott, scoring Loggins. This was followed by an RBI single from Garrett Dill, scoring Elliott from second and narrowing the lead to just one at 5-4.
- Travis Lott tied the game at 5-5 with an RBI single through the right side, scoring Aryan Patel.
- In the eleventh inning, the Spartans took a three-run lead over the Bulldogs with a two-run RBI triple from Tyler Steele and an RBI single from Aidan Brewer.
