Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bulldogs Win Handedly, Off to Best Start in Program History

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team scored early and often as they rolled to a 9-0 victory over Toccoa Falls College of the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs moved to 4-0-1, the most matches they've gone to start a season without a loss in program history.

How It Happened:
8' – Eleina Bryant scored her first career goal as a CIT shot off the post found the foot of the freshman to open the scoring.
15' – A pair of grad students connected for the second marker as Ariana Paez set up Casey O'Connor for her first collegiate goal in her fifth season of play.
18' – This time O'Connor set up Bryant for her second tally before fellow freshman Reagan Wise got on the board in the 26' for her second of the season.
44' – Didi Turay netted one just before the break, her first of the year.
50' – A pair of seniors, Amber Fairfax and Maggie Melogy, accounted for the latter's first goal of 2024 before Fairfax got her own in the 57th.
Paez (64') and Chloe Washington (76') closed out the scoring for The Citadel.

Inside the Numbers:
  • Sophomore Samantha Grantham returned to the pitch for the first time since suffering a season-ending injury on 9/10/23. She assisted on Wise's goal for her seventh career point in just eight matches.
  • Junior Grace Laws got her fourth career start in goal, earning her third win and second career shutout.
  • O'Connor played 51 matches in four years for Coastal before scoring her first collegiate goal in her fourth match for The Citadel.
