The Citadel Drops Midweek Contest Against College of Charleston

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. ­– The Bulldogs lost 5-2 to College of Charleston on Wednesday night inside the Ballpark at Patriots Point.

How It Happened
  • The Citadel struck first in the top of the first inning on a fielding error committed by the College of Charleston, scoring Phillips Daniels to make it 1-0.
  • The College of Charleston scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with an RBI double from Ethan Plyler and a two-run RBI double from Dylan Johnson, bringing the score to 3-1.
  • Ben Venables tacked on two insurance runs for the Cougars with a two-run RBI single to left field to extend the lead to 5-1.
  • Matthew Lively drove in the game's second run for the Bulldogs with an infield RBI single, scoring Lane Tobin from third to narrow the lead to three at 5-2.
