Bulldogs Overcome Deficit Against the Eagles; Anderson Homers

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Citadel overcame an early 5-1 deficit to secure a 7-5 victory against the Winthrop Eagles on Wednesday night. TJ Anderson recorded the first home run of his career.

How It Happened
  • Josh Skowronski put the Eagles on the board first with a two-run RBI double to left field, making it 2-0 in the first.  
  • The Citadel scored its first run of the game in the top of the third inning with a solo home run from TJ Anderson, bringing the score to 2-1.  
  • Winthrop scored three runs in the third inning, marked by a two-run RBI single from Ethan Wilson and an RBI groundout from Colin Crowley, extending the Eagles' lead to 5-1.  
  • Anthony Hausner cut the Eagles' lead to three with an RBI single, driving in Travis Elliott to make it 5-2.  
  • The Citadel took advantage of a fielding error committed by the Eagles to narrow the lead to 5-4 in the sixth.
