Bulldogs Post Freshman Record, Five All-Time Marks at USC Invite

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams delivered another strong performance Saturday at the USC Invite, recording one freshman record, five top-10 performances in program history, and 13 top-eight finishes overall.

Results

Men's Highlights
  • The Bulldogs placed four athletes inside the top eight in the weight throw.
  • Ridge Dowe finished third with a mark of 53-1.
  • William Owens placed sixth with a personal-best throw of 46-10.25.
  • Jack O'Cain took fifth with a season-best mark of 47-10, while Frank Pastorino finished eighth at 45-5.75.
  • O'Cain broke his freshman record in the pole vault once again, clearing a personal-best 16-1.75 to place fourth, earning the No. 2 mark in school history.
  • Trey Bartels finished eighth in the pole vault with a clearance of 13-8.25.
  • Dylan Horne placed fifth in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 49-2.5.
  • Langston Bailey finished sixth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 20-9.
Women's Highlights
  • Alliann Johnson ran the second-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter preliminaries, clocking a personal-best 7.64. She followed with a 7.71 in the semifinals to qualify third before electing not to run the final in preparation for the conference championships.
  • Jadan Dean posted a personal-best throw of 38-1.5 in the shot put to place fourth, earning the No. 10 mark in school history. She later finished third in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 48-1.25.
  • Rachel Reininger placed sixth in the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 4-11, earning the No. 8 mark all-time.
  • Luci Lippelgoos finished seventh in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 4-9, earning the No. 9 mark all-time.
  • Danielle Williams recorded a season-best time of 61.07 to finish ninth in the 400 meters.
The Bulldogs return to action Feb. 27–28 at the Southern Conference Indoor Championships in Lexington, Va.
