Bulldogs Add Two Freshman Records, Four Top 10 Marks at Davidson Relays

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Citadel track & field team concluded competition at the Davidson Relays with two freshman records and four top 10 program performances across the two-day meet Friday and Saturday.

Results

"We had a strong weekend overall with several athletes stepping up and competing well," head coach Kris Kut commented after the meet. "We saw multiple scoring performances and personal-best marks, even in tough conditions. Our freshmen handled a quick turnaround and competed with a lot of toughness, which is a good sign for where this group is headed as we move deeper into the outdoor season."

Men's Highlights
  • Ridge Dowe led the Bulldogs with a second-place finish in the hammer throw, recording a personal-best toss of 53.56 meters to move to No. 3 all-time in program history.
  • Noah Casa recorded a third-place finish in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 49.06.
  • Arthur Parham placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 58.47 meters.
  • Jack O'Cain placed sixth in the pole vault with a clearance of 15-7, breaking the freshman record and moving to No. 5 in program history.
  • J.J. Hudson placed sixth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 7.00 meters.
  • Dylan Horne scored in two throwing events, finishing sixth in the discus (44.20m) and eighth in the shot put (14.63m).
  • Holden Tutich finished seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:09.43.
  • The 4x400-meter relay team of Casa, Kyan Sapko, Jeremiah Shaw, and Cooper Watson placed eighth with a time of 3:33.57.
  • Frank Pastorino broke the freshman record in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 45.36 meters, surpassing the previous record of 44.04 and finishing ninth overall.
  • Additional performances included Jaxon Brewer placing 10th in the triple jump (13.29m), Connor Hill finishing 15th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.85), and Jack Wallace running 2:00.05 in the 800 meters.
  • Ryder Harbough ran 4:35.74 in the mile, while Carson Diggs (9:18.03) and Tanner Honeycutt (9:31.44) competed in the 3,000 meters.
  • Colin Reyes posted times of 11.71 in the 100 meters and 24.09 in the 200 meters.

Women's Highlights
  • Cameron Martin recorded a personal-best time of 67.92 in the 400-meter hurdles, placing ninth and moving to No. 5 in program history.
  • Liliana Coe placed 10th in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 9.95 meters, moving to No. 8 all-time.
  • Jaden Dean placed 10th in the hammer throw (40.44m) and also competed in the shot put (11.28m) and discus (28.23m).
  • Danielle K. Williams led the sprinters with a time of 26.95 in the 200 meters and 1:01.77 in the 400 meters. Kaihlah McQueen ran 13.22 in the 100 meters and 28.06 in the 200 meters, and DeMarie Washington added a time of 28.80 in the 200. Eleina Bryant ran 14.20 in the 100 meters and 30.28 in the 200 meters.
  • Brylee Deering ran 1:07.32 in the 400 meters.
  • In the 800 meters, Caroline McClelland (2:43.51), Aubrey Gorin (2:45.67), and Emily Brant (2:46.39) competed for the Bulldogs.
  • Caroline Plummer ran 5:43.70 in the mile.
  • Morgan Mankoski recorded marks in the hammer (29.02m) and discus (33.46m).
  • Ainsley Dowling competed in the javelin (22.89m), while Grier Murphy recorded a mark of 4.45m in the long jump.

The Bulldogs will have a week off from competition before returning to action April 9–11 at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.
