CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel volleyball team completes its 2014 regular season slate this weekend when it hosts East Tennessee State and UNCG at McAlister Field House.
The match against East Tennessee State, which takes place Friday evening at 6, will serve as Senior Night for The Citadel's
Ise d'Angelo,
Lauren Hurt,
Mallory Moore and
Amanda Rudnik.
The Bulldog (8-23, 0-14 SoCon) lineup is highlighted by the individual play of
Bailey Kernodle (229 kills), Rudnik (276 digs) and Hurt (20 solo blocks, 45 assisted blocks, 65 total blocks).
The Citadel is seeking its first-ever victory against ETSU in 13 all-time meetings. The Buccaneers (15-15, 9-5 SoCon) came away with a 25-13, 25-16, 25-18 win over the Cadets earlier this season in Johnson City.
The Dogs square off against UNCG at 5 p.m. on Saturday and are in search of their third all-time victory in the series. The Citadel's two previous wins against the Spartans also took place at McAlister Field House in 2004 and 2009.
UNCG (18-10, 10-5 SoCon) enters the weekend third in the league standings behind Furman and Samford. The Spartans, led by offensive standouts Jessica Brezwyn (280 kills) and Vicky Harley (264), are 5-6 away from Fleming Gymnasium this season.
