CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team will continue one of its most difficult road trips of the season, visiting Chattanooga on Friday and ETSU on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (8-16, 1-7 SoCon) opened the week on Tuesday at Mercer, falling in four sets to the Bears. The Citadel began the match with a 26-24 set victory, but dropped the final three sets. In sets three and four, the Bulldogs had opportunities to win both, losing by just two points in each.
In the match, four players finished in double-digit kills, led by
Moriah Smith's 15.
Dominique Williams had a season high 11 kills and a .667 hitting percentage, followed by
Megan Sowell and
Carla Bruce with 10 kills each.

Samantha Espy had her second straight 20 dig performance, moving closer to the program record with 1,301 career kills. The senior was also selected the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after leading the Bulldogs to two wins last week.
The Bulldogs have not met up with Chattanooga nor ETSU this season and are looking for their first ever wins against both programs this weekend. Chattanooga enters Friday's match with an 11-9 overall record and 4-3 in SoCon play, but have lost two straight matches. ETSU begins the week as the hottest team in the SoCon with 14-6 record, 6-2 in the SoCon and on a five match winning streak.
Live stats and video will be available for Friday's match at Chattanooga at 6 p.m., while live stats will be available on Saturday against ETSU at 2 p.m.
