CHARLESTON, S.C. –The Citadel volleyball team returns to McAlister Field House to compete against Southern Conference foes Mercer on Friday, Oct. 20 and Samford on Saturday, Oct. 21.
For the "Dig Pink" matches this weekend, The Citadel athletics is teaming up with Lowcountry Cancer Survivors in support of Breast Cancer awareness. There will be in-match giveaways during both matches for pink Adidas gear.
The Bulldogs (7-18, 1-7 SoCon) recently fell on the road to UNC-Greensboro 3-0 on Friday, Oct. 13 and in Cullowhee, N.C. against Western Carolina, 3-1 on Saturday, Oct. 14.
In Saturday's match against the Catamounts, sophomore
Jen Barbot led the Bulldogs in attacks with 10 kills and freshman
Sharlissa De Jesus earned three service aces and nine digs.
This Friday's upcoming match against Mercer is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. The Bulldogs last faced Mercer (7-13, 2-6) in Macon, Ga., on Saturday, Sept. 23 and fell to the Bears 3-1.
Saturday's match against Samford is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The last time The Citadel competed against Samford was Friday, Sept. 22 in Birmingham, Ala., where the Bulldogs defeated Samford for the first time in school history, 3-0.
Friday's and Saturday's matches will be broadcast on ESPN3 and live stats will be available for both matches at CitadelSports.com.
