CHARLESTON, S.C. – After beginning the 2017 season with a 1-2 record, The Citadel volleyball team will travel to our Nation's Capital to take part in the Service Academy Challenge.
Freshman
Sharlissa De Jesus, will look to continue her hot streak after recording three consecutive double-doubles in her first three starts as a Bulldog.
Senior
Moriah Smith, along with her offensive attacks, has provided the Bulldogs with a defensive backbone to start the year. She recorded double-digit digs in the previous three matches and looks to continue her streak this weekend.
This weekend's tournament will be held at The Pentagon in Washington D.C., and is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. when the Bulldogs face off against Georgetown University on Friday, September 1
st. The Hoyas began the 2017 season with a 2-1 record with wins over Howard and American.
The Bulldogs will then take on Army West Point at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night. The Black Knights are 2-1 to start the season with sweeping 3-0 wins over both St. Francis Brooklyn and Hartford.
Off of the court, the Bulldogs will tour several historic monuments such as The White House, The Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery.
