CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team returns to McAlister Field House to host the Bulldog Invitational on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16 in Charleston, South Carolina.   
 
Alabama A&M, Jacksonville State, Winthrop and Charleston Southern are scheduled to compete in this weekend's invitational.
 
The Bulldogs are currently 2-9 on the season with a 3-1 victory over North Carolina Central and a big win over Columbia, 3-2.
 
Alabama A&M is 0-7 on the season after falling last weekend in the EIU Panther Invite. Jacksonville State has a 10-3 record and swept their home invitational by defeating North Carolina A&T, Alcorn State, Mississippi Valley State and Louisiana-Monroe to improve to a six-match winning streak.
 
This will be the second meeting of the season for The Citadel and Winthrop after the Bulldogs dropped the match 3-1 in the ECU Invitational on Sept. 8. The Eagles are 5-5 this season after recently defeating ECU 3-2. Charleston Southern has a 3-8 record and is on a two-match win streak after beating Norfolk State and N.C. Central in Elon, North Carolina.
 
On Friday, The Citadel kicks off the invitational against Alabama A&M at 11:00 a.m. The Bulldogs don't compete again until 7:00 p.m. against Jacksonville State. The Bulldogs will continue play on Saturday against Winthrop at 2:00 p.m. and Charleston Southern at 7:00 p.m. ESPN3 will live stream the weekend's events and live stats for all matches will be available on CitadelSports.com.
