Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team dropped its matches to Winthrop and Charleston Southern on the final day of the Bulldog Invitational in McAlister Field House on Saturday.
 
The Citadel started the day at 2:00 p.m. against the Winthrop Eagles who swept all three sets 26-24, 25-22 and 25-17 to win the match 3-0.
 
The Bulldogs then battled against the CSU Buccaneers. The Bulldogs handled the first two sets 25-21, 25-23 before dropping sets three and four 25-19, 26-24, respectively. The Bulldogs and the Bucs then took it to the fifth set where the Bulldogs eventually fell 15-13 to give up the 3-2 match.
 
Senior Moriah Smith led the Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday with 64 kills total to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team. She is joined by MVP Keaupono Fey and Jace Kleffner of Winthrop, the Eagles going undefeated at the Bulldog Invitational this weekend. Also voted to the all-tournament team was Mackenzie Romback from Jacksonville State, Kyle Klein from Charleston Southern and Syretha Pride from Alabama A&M.
 
The Bulldogs will return to McAlister Field House on Tuesday, September 19, to host Savannah State at 6:00 p.m. The Tigers are currently 2-8 after falling to three opponents this past weekend in the FAU Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida.
