Box Score 2 WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Citadel volleyball team closed out the Service Academy Challenge in Washington, D.C. on Saturday with a victory over Columbia.
The Bulldogs headed into Saturday's competition 0-2 after falling on Friday to Georgetown and Army West Point.
The Citadel competed against Air Force at 10:30 a.m. and dropped the match 3-0. The Bulldogs then defeated Columbia in their final match up at 3:30 p.m.
The Lions dropped the first set 25-21 to the Bulldogs before answering 25-23, 25-23 to go up 2-1 at the end of the third set. The Bulldogs then closed out the match with a hard fought 29-27 win in the fourth set, and 15-9 win in the fifth.
Next week the Bulldogs return to the Carolina's to compete in the ECU Invitational in Greenville, North Carolina, starting September 9. A live stream and live stats will be available at CitadelSports.com.
