CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team will travel to Greenville, North Carolina, to compete in the ECU Classic in Williams Arena on Friday and Saturday.
The Bulldogs participated in the Service Academy Challenge last weekend in our Nation's Capital, and finished with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Columbia to improve to two wins this season.
In the match with Columbia, the Bulldogs claimed the first set 25-21 before the Lions answered by taking the next two sets 25-23, 25-23 to go up 2-1 at the end of the third set. The Bulldogs then dominated the last two sets to close out the 3-2 win.
This weekend's tournament for the Bulldogs is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday against Winthrop, followed by a matchup against Gardner-Webb at 2:00 p.m. The Winthrop Eagles are 3-4 this season after going 2-1 in the Troy Invitational last weekend, and the Runnin' Bulldogs are 2-5 on the season since falling to Elon on September 5.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs are scheduled to take on host ECU at 12:00 p.m. and then Hampton at 4:00 p.m. A live stream of the match against ECU and live stats for all matches will be available on CitadelSports.com.
