CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team will host Savannah State for a midweek match up on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Opponent Information
- Savannah State currently holds a 3-16 record and have a pair of conference wins in the MEAC.
- The Tigers are led by Tyran Chenault, who has tallied 114 kills to go along with 55 blocks on the year.
Previous Match Up
- The Citadel took the first match up of the year against Savannah State by a score of 3-1 and are 28-1 overall against the Tigers.
- Sharlissa De Jesus led the Bulldogs with 17 kills and four service aces, hitting .214 over the course of four sets. Freshman, Maya Elassal had an impressive outing against the Tigers hitting .350 with eight kills and three blocking assists.
Last Time Out for The Citadel
- Over the weekend, the Bulldogs went 1-1 in conference matches against Furman and Wofford.
- In a five-set victory against Furman, Mellanie King put on impressive performance notching 20 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Megan Fuhr recorded forty seven assists on the night while tallying a team-high 16 digs. Sharlissa De Jesus returned to the floor and garnered 16 kills to go along with a pair of service aces and double-digit digs. As a team, the Bulldogs recorded 11 blocks, 63 assists, four service aces and garnered a hitting percentage of .241 over five sets.
- The Citadel would drop a match to Wofford on Saturday night by a final score of 0-3.
- With the win against Furman, the Bulldogs marked their first time in program history where they have recorded four conference wins.
