  • Punter Matthew Campbell continued his strong season by averaging 50.2 yards on four punts, including a career-long 56 yarder.
  • Kicker Jacob Godek hit his eighth-straight field goal and converted all four extra points. He also recorded five touchbacks on seven kickoffs.
  • Samford quarterback Devlin Hodges is second all-time in FCS passing yards with 13,776 yards. He trails only Steve McNair on the all-time list.

421 - The Bulldogs rushed for a season-high 421 yards against Western Carolina. The rushing total is the highest since rushing for 435 yards against Presbyterian during the 2016 season.
188 - Quarterback Brandon Rainey made his first start at quarterback and ran for 188 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries. He reached the end zone on the opening drive of the game by going over left end for a 43-yard touchdown.
126 - Freshman Clay Harris recorded his first career 100-yard performance by rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over Western Carolina. He is now second on the team with four rushing touchdowns.
50.2 - Punter Matthew Campbell quietly had another outstanding day kicking against Western Carolina. The freshman averaged 50.2 yards on four punts, including a career-long 56 yard punt.

On This Date
The Bulldogs scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to rally for a 42-31 victory over No. 19 Elon. Bart Blanchard went 22-of-29 for 370 yards and three touchdowns. Andre Roberts was the top target with eight catches for 180 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown reception. Tory Cooper rushed for three touchdowns, including the score that sealed the victory in the fourth quarter.

The Game
The Bulldogs return home to take on Samford on Nov. 10 for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Johnson Hagood Stadium.

All games this season can be heard live on 92.1-FM/102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston. The new voice of the Bulldogs, Luke Mauro, will be joined by Cal McCombs in the booth and Jay Harper on the sideline.

The pair of Bulldogs are meeting for the 12th time on the gridiron with The Citadel holding a 6-5 advantage in the series. The Citadel is 4-2 in games played in Charleston.

Rainey Rushes for 188
Quarterback Brandon Rainey ran for 188 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries in his first start at quarterback. He started the game with a 43-yard touchdown run on the opening possession. Rainey ran for 495 yards on 119 attempts as the team's starting B-Back last season.

Harris Hits Century Mark
Freshman Clay Harris made his second career start and ran for a career-high 126 yards and two touchdowns. He did his damage in the second half with 77 yards and both scores in the second half.

Thump-Thump
The punt block unit blocked a pair of punts against Western Carolina. Sean-Thomas Faulkner blocked one and Bradley Carter blocked the second that was scooped up for a touchdown by Dante Smith. The block for Faulkner was his second of the season.

Blocking Punts vs. WCU
The Bulldogs blocked two punts against Western Carolina and has now blocked five punts in the last two games against the Catamounts.

Second-Half Shutout
The Citadel defense posted a shutout in the second half as they limited the Catamounts to just 172 yards of offense. The defense recorded five sacks and forced three turnovers (2 fumbles, 1 interception) to help erase the 14-point deficit.

Forcing Turnovers
The Bulldogs forced three turnovers in the victory over Western Carolina. Willie Eubanks III picked off his second pass of the season in the third quarter and Ronald Peterkin forced a fumble to stop a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Noah Dawkins sealed the deal with a sack fumble.

Up Next
The Bulldogs hit the road for the final time as they travel to defending FBS national champion Alabama on Nov. 17. Kickoff time is yet to be determined.
