Box Score JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - The Citadel volleyball team dropped their match up to top-ranked East Tennessee State by a final score of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-17, respectively.
How It Happen (The Citadel 0, ETSU 3)
- The Bulldogs dropped three consecutive sets to the top-ranked Buccaneers who were paced by Leah Clayton with 11 total kills on the night.
- In the first set, the Bucs got out to an early 14-7 lead and would eventually win the set despite a late push from the Bulldogs who went on a 3-0 run to pull within three. The Citadel would go on to drop the next two sets to ETSU.
- The Buccaneers currently sit at the top of the Southern Conference and were most recently named the regular season champion.
- The Bulldogs were led by Sharlissa De Jesus who recorded 10 kills to go along with 13 digs.
- Sumerlyn Carruthers was next in line with seven kills and a pair of blocks. Megan Fuhr recorded 26 assists over the three sets to go with eight digs.
