CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team dropped a tough 7-0 match at home to Campbell, Tuesday afternoon at the Earle Tennis Center.
"I'm very glad that the rain held off and that we were able to get the match in today against Campbell. It was a hard-fought match, and for about an hour, our guys played and competed at the level that they need to move past the tipping point that I've been talking about," said head coach
Chuck Kriese. "We were able to play traditional scoring, which gave an accurate barometer for where the guys are really at. When we have to play abbreviated scoring systems, you can never really tell where your players are at in their development and what they need to work on. Give the credit to Campbell, they deserve the win today and I am very happy to play them at any time because of the class of competition between both teams. We now go on our Spring Break trip and are looking forward to it."
Campbell (7-4) took the doubles point off a clean sweep.
