Box Score SAVANNAH, GA. - The Citadel volleyball went to 4-3 on the year after defeating Savannah State on the road in four sets.

How it Happened

• The Bulldogs got off to an early 7-2 lead in the first set of the match up and would go on to finish of the Tigers by a final score of 25-21. Sharlissa De Jesus ended the initial set with back-to-back kills. 
• Savannah State would battle back and take set two by a score of 25-23. The Bulldogs went on to take sets three and piled on the offense outscoring the Tigers in the final set, 25-13. 
• Sharlissa De Jesus filled the stat sheet with 17 kills, three assists, four service aces and nine digs. Freshman Maya Elassal recorded a new career high with eight kills. Megan Fuhr aided in the offense by tallying 31 assists, bringing her total on the year to 180 through seven games.
• On the defensive side of the ball, the Bulldogs recorded a season high nine blocks behind Sarah Dobrich, Alicia Roberts and Elassal. 
• The Citadel held Savannah State to .065 in hitting percentage through four sets.

• "We are happy to be at 4-3 on the season right now and are aware that we can only continue to get better and more healthy. We have a short turnaround for a tough tournament but again it will continue to get us ready for conference play."
