- Rainey scored three touchdowns on the ground, raising his season total to 11. He is currently tied for the nationally lead in rushing touchdowns.
- The three-touchdown performance marked the third time this season Rainey has rushed for three scores in a game.
- Willie Eubanks III posted his second-straight double digit tackle performance with 12 tackles, seven solo, and 1.5 tackles-for-loss against VMI.

233 - The Citadel threw for 233 yards against VMI. It was the most passing yards in a game since the Bulldogs threw for 290 yards against Georgia Southern in the 2009 season finale.
188 - Brandon Rainey ran for 188 yards and a touchdown in his first career start at quarterback last season at Western Carolina.
110 - Raleigh Webb had 110 receiving yards against VMI. It was his second-straight game over 100 yards, marking the first time a Bulldog had back-to-back 100-yard receiving games since Andre Roberts had four-straight in 2008.

In 1991, The Citadel went on the road and knocked off FBS Army West Point, 20-14, in front of 40,459 fans. The game was played primarily on the ground as the teams combined for 561 rushing yards. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first half after Jack Douglas scored on a 28-yard run in the first quarter and Everette Sands scored from two-yards out in the second quarter. Kicker Rob Avriett kicked two field goals in the half, the first from 38-yards out to open the scoring, and the other from 25-yards out early in the second quarter.

Quarterback Brandon Rainey went 19-for-34 for 233 yards against VMI. It is a career-high in all three categories and the most passing yards since Jordan Black threw for 223 yards against Furman in 2017.
