CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team jumps back onto the hardwood this Saturday, Oct. 19 against Chattanooga at 4 p.m.
#BATTLEREADY (ABOUT THE CITADEL)
The Bulldogs are 7-13 overall and 1-6 in the conference going into tomorrow's match after capturing their first SoCon victory against Wofford, 3-1 on Wednesday.
The Citadel's victory over Wofford is the first time the 'Dogs have beaten the Terriers since 2011.
Junior
Sharlissa De Jesus registered her sixth double-double of the season with 22 kills and 12 digs.
Makaya Middleton also had an outstanding match, topping her previous career-high 10 kills, hammering down 16.
THE CITADEL VS CHATTANOOGA (THE HISTORY)
The Citadel is 1-28 against Chattanooga all-time, beating the Mocs for the first time in program history, 3-0 during the 2018 season. The Bulldogs will look to continue their current three-game win streak as they head into Saturday's match.
SCOUTING THE MOCS
The Mocs of Chattanooga are currently 5-14 and 0-6 in the SoCon. Before coming to McAlister Field House this weekend, Chattanooga will host Wofford Friday, Oct. 18 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Chattanooga's offense is led by senior Dani Szczepanski, who averages 3.10 kills per set with a .315 kill percentage on the year. The Mocs' defense ranks among the top five in the conference, averaging 14.77 digs per set. Libero Megan Kaufman leads the charge with 260 digs on the season, averaging 3.82 per set.
COMING UP
The Bulldogs will have almost a week without competition before traveling to Samford Friday, Oct. 25 for match at 8 p.m.
