  • The Keydets used the ground game to take the lead in the second quarter as Alex Ramsey rushed five times, the final time from one-yard out.
  • VMI took advantage of two big penalties late in the half to get a 22-yard field goal from Grant Clemons as the first half ended.
  • The lead was extended early in the second half as the Keydets took the second-half kickoff and reached the end zone on an Udinski 28-yard pass to Javeon Lara.
  • The Bulldogs answered back by feeding Logan Billings four times on the first five plays of the drive.
  • Rainey then took to the air and hit Dante Smith down the middle for a 35-yard gain.
  • The Bulldogs converted a 3rd-and-16 later in the drive as Rainey hit Remus Bulmer for 18 yards.
  • Rainey ended the 12-play drive with a three-run touchdown run.
  • The Keydets extended the lead with a field goal early in the fourth quarter.
  • A pass interference call and a roughing the passer penalty helped move the Bulldogs into VMI territory. Back-to-back completions to Webb helped overcome a holding call.
  • Smith converted a third down as he took a pitch and battled his way through tacklers for a22-yard run.
  • Rainey scored for his third time in the game with a three-yard run.
  • The Bulldogs needed one more stop, but VMI took advantage of the aggressive play to hit a 61-yard pass to Herres with just over two minutes to play.
