SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Citadel women's soccer team dropped a very physical road game, 4-0 to Georgia Southern Sunday night as the Eagles utilized three second half goals to win their home opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Georgia Southern outshot the Bulldogs 16-12 overall, including 7-3 in the opening half. The shots were tied 9-9 in the second period.
Yulia Hayes (1-1) started the game in between the pipes for the Bulldogs and made three saves.
Hannah Roth led the Bulldogs with four shots, while Devyn Nyhart and Ellie Burgess both added two shots. Both of Burgess' shots were on frame.
Georgia Southern's Coumbs led the way with five shots.
Lauren Karinshak earned the win in goal for the Eagles.

NEXT UP
The Bulldogs will play six of their next seven games at home, beginning with a 4 p.m. tilt with North Dakota on Friday, Aug. 30. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and will open a three-game homestand that includes games against Navy and UNC Asheville.
