CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team begins its homestand for the 2019 season tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. by hosting cross-town rival, College of Charleston.
 
#BATTLEREADY (ABOUT THE CITADEL)
The Bulldogs are off to a 2-4 start after going on the road for two separate tournaments. Tuesday's match was originally scheduled earlier in the season but was forced to postpone due to Hurricane Dorian.
The Citadel is currently led on offense by Mellanie King with 64 total kills on the season, so far.
Megan Fuhr ranks fourth in program history in careers assists with 1,752. She has a 162 this season and averages 8.10 assists per set.

This Tuesday will be the fifth meeting between the two schools and the Bulldogs will look to secure their first victory against the Cougars.
 
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
The College of Charleston Cougars are currently 1-7 on the season after matches with teams including Michigan State, Stanford, Ohio, Virginia, and UConn. Offensive players to keep an eye on will be Lauren Reed and Mandy Napierala, which currently lead the squad with 60 and 56 kills respectively. The Cougars average almost 10 kills per set (9.62) to their opponents, 12.59. The setter position is shared between sophomore Amani Dunston and freshman Tori Carpenter.
 
COMING UP
The 'Dogs will head out on he road once again to Troy, Ala., for the Trojan Classic. The Citadel will take on Southern and Troy on Friday, Sept. 20 and Florida A&M on Saturday, Sept. 21.
